Angela Kaye Stull Brewster was born on April 9, 1947 in Hastings, NE to Richard and Freda Stull. She was the first of two children
Angie grew up with her mother and brother, moving around a lot and attending a variety of schools. One of the constants in Angie’s life were her beloved grandparents J.R. and Estella Liggett of Shelton. Angie had many happy memories of time spent on their farm and loved to visit them even after she was grown and had a family of her own.
When Angie was in high school her mother married Orville Hanke and they moved to Phillipsburg, KS where she graduated 1965. Angie was very attached to Orville and for the rest of her life referred to him as Dad and he considered her a daughter.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Angie moved to Grand Island where she met Jim Brewster and married him on May 14, 1966. To this union 5 children were born; Michelle Rae, Constance Marie, Kerri Dawn, Clinton James and Heather Anne. Jim and Angie started out their married life in O’Neill, then in 1972 moved to Columbus where they owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Inn while Jim worked at BD. In 1979 they sold the motel and moved to an acreage outside of Shelby.
Shortly after her marriage, Angie declared her faith and love in Jesus Christ and was immersed in baptism into Christian faith. During her married years she was a faithful member, helping with Sunday School, and other church activities. Angie also worked a variety of jobs off and on, usually as a CNA or med aide. While able she did enjoy caring for the elderly.
Besides her family, Angie had two things she was most proud of; being able to trace her direct lineage to the Mayflower (as could her husband), and that she was a many year breast cancer survivor. She loved wearing the pink ribbon and “fight like a girl” t-shirts.
Of all her many talents, Angie was best known for her cooking ability. She could make a delicious meal out of nothing. As rheumatoid arthritis took away her hand this was one thing she missed.
In Angie’s later years she lived in Grand Island, Columbus, and for the past few years in Broken Bow, lastly at Heritage Hall.
Angie was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents JR and Estella Liggett, her father Richard Stull, step father Orville Hanke and various uncles and aunts.
She is survived by her daughters; Michelle (Steve) Burnett of Anselmo, Connie (Ed) Thomas of Columbus, Kerri (Steve) Klabenes of Chambers, Heather (Blake) Loewenstein of Lincoln, and a son C.J.
