Mickey Daily

Michaelynn "Mickey" Suzanne Daily, 71, passed away on October 28, 2015 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Mickey was born on March 21, 1944 in Omaha to Edward and Lucille Fenton. Mickey spent the first several years of her life in Omaha, along with her older sister Gail and younger brother Gary. In 1947, the family moved to Ord and later to Gothenburg and Sargent before settling in Broken Bow when Mickey was in 6th grade. In 1961, Mickey moved to Grand Island and graduated with her cosmetology degree from beauty school. After graduation, she returned to Omaha and worked as a beauty operator at Mason Lorenzo's for 2 years. She eventually returned to Broken Bow, where she would live for the remainder of her life. She worked at LaVonne's Beauty Salon for several years before purchasing the business in 1969. Mickey continued to own and operate LaVonne's until 1991. She worked at the Super 8 Motel for several years until the late 1990s. Mickey married Alan Daily on April 19, 1969. To this union daughter Renee was born on May 19, 1971 and son Shawn on May 1, 1973. Alan and Mickey were married for 41 years until Alan's death on May 13, 2010. In her later years, Mickey enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She also enjoyed doting on her many adopted grandchildren and playing cards with her friends in the Red Hat Society. Mickey is survived by daughter Renee and partner Scott Greenwalt of St. Paul, son Shawn of Lincoln, sister Gail Kuhlman of Vancouver, WA, brother Gary (Kay) Fenton of Broken Bow, aunts Shirley Walker of Ord and Lois Wells of St. Paul and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Lucille, husband Alan, and aunt Doris Steinbarger. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Broken Bow wit Minister Kathy Salts officiating. A register book may be signed on Monday 8 AM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Family requests that memorials be given to the Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Broken Bow.
