Broken Bow, NE- Frances “Fran” Young, age 72 of Broken Bow died Friday November 6, 2015 at the Bryan LGH East Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Gates Cemetery north of Broken Bow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 10AM to 8PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with the family greeting friends 6PM to 7PM. Memorials will be deiced on at a later date.
Frances Rae Young was born on October 5, 1943 at Sargent, NE to Walter “Dutch” and Ima (Forbes) Daily. Fran attended grade school at Milburn and later graduated from Merna High School. Fran was married to Neal Young. They made their home in the Gates community. Mrs. Young cooked at the Broken Bow Schools for 18 years.
Mr. Young died on August 12, 2003. Fran moved into Broken Bow after Neal’s death. She stayed very busy with church circle groups, bunco, playing cards, and the Red Hats.
Survivors include:
3 daughters; Kelli Scott of Norton, KS, Pam Young and friend Bryan Peoples, and Jennifer Carr and her husband David of Grand Island, NE
7 grandchildren
three sisters; Joyce Rector of San Diego, CA, Lois (Claire) Leibhart of Fort Morgan, CO and Darlene (Glenn) Nachtman of Grand Junction, CO
Sister in laws; Linda Ayers of Broken Bow, Mary (Paul) Jensen of Tucson, AZ
and Bev Nelson of Storm Lake, IA
and many nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neal, a sister Arva Duryea, and her son in law Brad Scott.
