Patsy Nell (Empfield) Horn age 73, of Oconto, Nebraska, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 10 a.m. in the Oconto Community Building in Oconto, Nebraska, with Reverend Doug Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20th, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oconto Community Building in Oconto. Memorials are suggested to the Oconto Methodist Church General Fund and the Oconto EMT’s. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Patsy was born May 8, 1942, in Callaway, Nebraska to Lloyd and Martha (Adams) Empfield. She attended Sunnyside Country School through 8th grade. This is where her husband, Charles Horn, saw her running a race and decided he would attend Callaway High School, where they both graduated in 1960. On November 27, 1960, Patsy married Charles Horn. They lived on the Horn ranch all of their lives. Three children were born to Charles and Patsy, Lori (Horn) Jorgenson, Lane Horn, and Lana Horn. Each daughter had two children. Patsy loved being a mother and loved being a Grandma even more. She was adored by her grandchildren who called her “Farm Grandma”. Patsy was a member of the Oconto Methodist Church, Oconto Social Study Club, and spent time on many committees benefitting her church, the community of Oconto, and friends. Patsy is survived by her husband Charles of Oconto, her daughters; Lori and husband Kent Jorgenson of Elkhorn, NE, and Lana Horn of Kearney, NE; 4 grandchildren; Joel Jorgenson and fiancé Kristen Meyers of Denver, CO, Kamille (Jorgenson) and husband Nick Lee of Brighton, CO, Logan Roepke and friend Ashley Sydow of McCook, NE; and Lorissa Roepke of Kearney, NE. Pasty is also survived by three sisters; Marilyn Waldron of Lincoln, NE, Sharla Kaelin of Broken Bow, NE, and Marthaleen Parks of North Platte, NE. She was preceded in death by her son Lane Horn, her parents, her sister Marjorie Eichelberger, father and mother in-laws, Les and Vera Mae Horn, and her brother in-laws; James Horn, Charles Waldron, Loran Parks, and Charlie Kaelin.
