Muscatine, IA- Rodney Glenn Peterson age 61 of Muscatine, IA formerly of Weissert died Saturday February 27, 2016 due to complications from a stroke.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Marvin Peterson and Pastor Craig Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at Weissert, NE. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
Rodney was born at Broken Bow, NE on August 19, 1954, the oldest son of Lewis and Beverly (Ferguson) Peterson. He grew up at Weissert and attended Weissert grade school graduating from Broken Bow High School with the class of 1972. Following graduation, he attended the Lincoln School of Commerce. While living in Lincoln he went to work for Burlington Northern and worked for the railroad for ten years. In 1987 he moved to Muscatine, Iowa and has worked for HON Industries for the past twenty-nine years.
He is survived by his mother Beverly Peterson of Broken Bow, Nebraska; three sons, Glenn (Jessica) Peterson of Colorado Springs, CO, Kyle (Amanda) Peterson and Austin Peterson of Muscatine, IA; and a daughter, Hope Peterson of St. Louis, MO. Rodney is also survived by his two brothers, Randall (Lisa) Peterson and Roland (Mary Jo) Peterson of Broken Bow, NE; two grandsons, Kaden and Kallen, and two granddaughters, Emery and Hadley.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Lewis in 2003 and both sets of grandparents.
