Macel Crawford

Macel D Crawford age 90 Merna, Nebraska Macel was born October 2, 1925 to Pauline (Brannon) and Myrl Delinger. Passed away March 21, 2016 in Lincoln. Macel was born on a ranch north of Mullen, Nebraska and at age 6 Macel ‘s family moved to Seneca, Nebraska where she met Bruce Crawford. At age 15 Macel, her Mom and Step-Dad moved to Overbook, Kansas to help farm her grandparents land . Macel graduated from Overbrook High School in 1945. Bruce Crawford and Macel Delinger were married on November 29, 1945 when Bruce returned home from serving 4 years in the US Army during WWII. They had 2 children, Irwin and Darlene, and moved to Merna, Nebraska in 1954. Macel enjoyed her gardening, especially her flower gardens, cooking and traveling. Bruce and Macel enjoyed traveling in their camper and drove to Alaska twice and was able to travel and visit 48 of the 50 states. Macel is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bruce. Son and daughter-in-law: Irwin and Marilyn (Springer) Crawford of Beaver Crossing Daughter: Darlene Esser of Lincoln Grandson: Todd Crawford of Grand Island, Nebraska Granddaughter and husband: Abby (Crawford) and Matt Foreman of Bennington, Nebraska Preceded in death by her Mother and Step-Father: Pauline and Dick Evans Father: Myrl Delinger Son-in-law: Jim Esser Granddaughter: Stacey Crawford Services will be held at Govier Brothers Mortuary, in Broken Bow on Tuesday March 29, 2016 @ 2:00 PM, with Pastor Doug Jones officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday March 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the Seneca Cemetery at Seneca, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Merna Fire Department. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm with family greeting friends 6:00pm to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers.
