Leonard V. Lindly, age 83, of rural Anselmo passed away March 23, 2016 at his residence in Anselmo.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28th at 2 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Bill Williams officiating and Masonic Rites. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Anselmo, Nebraska with Military honors. Visitation will be Sunday March 27th 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. A memorial will be designated at a later date.
Leonard was born March 13, 1933 to Leonard V. and Edrie (Simonson) Lindly. He attended Anselmo Country School and graduated from Curtis Agriculture High School.
Leonard served in Korea from 1951 to 1953. On August 10, 1958 Leonard married Ruth Muhlbach. They made their home near Anselmo where they farmed and later Leonard operated the county road grader. Leonard was a 60 year member of the United Methodist Church in Anselmo. A life member of the VFW. A member of the Anselmo Masonic Lodge, later the Masonic Custer Lodge 148 in Broken Bow for 61 years holding many offices. Leonard was a member of the York Rite in North Platte, and the Shrine Tehama Temple in Hastings. Leonard also enjoyed collecting John Deere toys, radio control airplanes, and other collectibles.
Leonard is survived by his wife Ruth Lindly of Anselmo, Ne, 2 sons Kevin (Marilyn) Lindly of Broken Bow, and Ross Lindly of Everett, Washington. 1 sister Connie (Vernon) Magill of Bethany, Oklahoma. 9 grandchildren Devin, Brianna, Jessica, Ryan, Clay, Clint, Jeff, Ben, and Brandon. 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 2 sons Mark and Craig, and his parents.
