Marian Horky

Marian E. Horky, age 93, of Sargent, Nebraska, died Tuesday April 5, 2016 at her residence in Sargent. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 9th at 10 a.m. in the Evangelical Free Church in Sargent, Ne. with Rev. Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery near Sargent. Visitation will be Friday April 8th at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and prior to the service on Saturday at the Church. Memorial may be made to the family for later designation. Marian E. Horky was born February 14, 1923 in Sargent, Nebraska to William and Ruby (Ray) Gibbens On January 1, 1945 Marian married Joseph Horky in Broken Bow. They made their home on a farm north west of Sargent, Nebraska in the Cummings Park community for about 40 years. They retired from farming and moved into Sargent. Marian and Joe enjoyed traveling, she enjoyed gardening, housework, and cooking. Marian is survived by her husband Joseph Horky of Sargent, 2 daughters Janeane (Bernard) Nichols of Berwyn, Ne., Connie (Larry) Bottorf of Sargent, Ne., and son Joseph (Cindy) Horky of Sargent. 13 grandchildren, Shelly Nichols, Rhonda Carlson, Stephen Nichols, Craig Nichols, Larry Bottorf, Jeff Bottorf, Sonnia Grint, Heidi Borer, John Horky, Terry Horky, Brenda Kettleborough, Michael Horky, and Alex Horky. 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great great children. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and a son.
