Norma Fern Hall, 95, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, Nebraska, with Pastor Marvin Bauer officiating. Interment will be at the Madison Square Cemetery west of Taylor. Visitation will be held on Friday April 29, 2016, 3 PM to 6 PM at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation or donor’s choice Norma was born November 29, 1920, in Taylor, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter E. “Jack” and Anna (Parker) Kraus. She grew up in Loup County and graduated from the Loup County High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Dean Coy Hall on September 23, 1938. Dean and Norma lived on the farm west of Taylor for 40 years and moved to Ord, Nebraska in 1978. Following Dean’s passing, Norma moved to Norfolk in 1989 and then to Grand Island in 1999. She was a member of the Madison Square Ladies Club for 50 years and was recognized by the VFW Auxiliary for being a Gold Circle Member in 2016. Norma enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning Dean’s bountiful garden. She loved getting the family together for birthday parties and holiday celebrations. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Gail and Donna Hall of Lexington, Peggy and Don Smith of Plattsmouth, grandchildren Kimberlee and Todd Booth of Lexington, Melanie and Jon Smith of Doniphan, Wendy and Robert Andersen of Treynor, Iowa, Lance and Tammy Smith of Sioux Falls, S.D, Judd and Jill Smith of Lincoln, Maia Smith of Lincoln, and Luke and Lauren Smith of Rogers, Arkansas. Great grandchildren and spouses are Emilee and Michael Voss of Overton, Abigail and Trevor Kurtzhals of Lexington, Brendan Booth of Lexington, Madeline Smith and Ethan Smith of Doniphan, Dexter Andersen, Phoebe Andersen and BrexLee Andersen of Treynor, Iowa, Gavin Smith and Griffin Smith of Sioux Falls, S.D., Parker Smith, Sterling Smith, Landry Smith, and Emmersyn Smith of Lincoln, Sasha Smith and Gus Smith of Rogers, Arkansas. Great–great granddaughter is Lillee Voss of Overton, and great–great grandson Skylar Kurtzhals of Lexington; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Larry Peters of Taylor, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Casey and Wanda Knake, Keaton, Riley, Molly of Norfolk. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Anna Kraus; her husband, Dean Hall; an infant granddaughter; three brothers, Orvil “Son”, Jackie, and Kenneth; four sister-in-laws, and two brother-in-laws.
