Broken Bow, NE- Martha Ditson age 80 of Broken Bow died Sunday July 17, 2016 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2016, 8 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the D.A.R. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Martha Elizabeth Ditson was born on March 24, 1936 at Taylor, Nebraska to Ellis and Annie (Gessell) Bohy. She attended school in Taylor and graduated from Taylor High School. On April 16, 1956 she was married to Howard Ditson at Winner, SD. The couple made their home in Michigan before returning to Nebraska. Martha worked as a hairdresser and later as an LPN at the Jennie Melham Hospital. Martha enjoyed traveling, evening going to Alaska. She also collected salt and pepper shakers, and had a collection of over 3200. Mrs. Ditson liked to play board games, especially Scrabble. Martha was a member of the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). Survivors include her husband, Howard of Broken Bow, sons; Scott Ditson and Kurt (Lisa) Ditson both of Lincoln, daughters; Sharron Ditson and Karen Neben both of Lincoln, and Annette (Daryl) Glos of Grand Island, four grandchildren; Nick, A.J., Zach, and Addison, two sisters; Mary (Terry) Smith of Lincoln, and Margaret Zimmerman of Blue Hill, step grandchildren; Deanna, Michael, and Kara, and step great grandchildren; Avalon and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
