Delbert Drake

Delbert L. Drake, age 94, of Broken Bow formerly of Arcadia, Nebraska passed away Saturday July 23 at the Broken Bow Hospital. Funeral services for Delbert L. Drake will be held on Wednesday July 27th at 11:00 AM in the Arcadia United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Berry and Darrel Sybrant officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 8AM to 8PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary, Broken Bow, Nebraska. Family will be present 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Interment will be in the Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia Nebraska with Military Rites. Memorials may be made to the Faith Bible Church, Arcadia Fire and Rescue, or the Veterans Memorial Wall in Arcadia. Delbert Drake was born December 23, 1921 in Valley County, Nebraska Earl Fenton and Nora Ellen (Miller) Drake. On November 1, 1947, he married Betty June Hawley in Litchfield, Nebraska. They farmed numerous farms in Valley, Custer, and Sherman Counties. Delbert is survived by his wife June Drake of Broken Bow, daughters Linda (Johnnie) Johnson of Berwyn, Barb (Les) Johnson of Bella Vista, AR., and Jane Kusek of Arcadia, and son Earl D. (Kathy) Drake of Sargent, Ne. also nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Louis and Darrell, half-brother Merrill Pierce, and half sister Mona Pierce.
