Laurence Coleman, age 88, of Broken Bow formerly of Merna, died Wednesday October 26, 2016 at the Broken Bow Care and Rehabilitation Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will held Saturday October 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Tim Peterson and Pastor Jurdan Counts officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Table Cemetery west of Merna, Ne. at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be Friday October 28th 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. a Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Homeward Trail Bible Camp or the Merna Scholarship Fund. Laurence B. Coleman was born February 26, 1928 west of Merna in the Cliff Table community to Cecil and Fern (Schaad) Coleman. Laurence attended country school at Cliff Table to 8th grade, then attended and graduated from Merna High School in 1946. On August 30, 1950 Laurence married Theda Nansel at the Garfield Methodist Church in Lincoln County. They made their home and farmed in the Cliff Table community for 64 years. In 2012 Laurence and Theda retired and moved to Broken Bow. Laurence is survived by his wife Theda Coleman of Broken Bow, Son Larry (Renae) Coleman of Broken Bow. 2 grandchildren Kinsi and Kia Coleman of Broken Bow. a brother Harold (Mildred) Coleman of Merna. Laurence was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Lee Coleman, and sister Edna Roessler.
