Harold "Breezy" Brohman

October 19, 1939 — November 3, 2016

Harold Horatio “Breezy” Brohman, 77, passed away November 3, 2016.  He was born October 19, 1939 on his grandparents’ farmstead (Horatio and Bessy Booth) southwest of Callaway, NE.  He attended Sunnyside Country School and graduated from Callaway High in 1957.  He entered the military and trained in Aberdeen, Maryland.  He married Judy L. Neben on October 2, 1960.  He became a Nebraska State Patrolman in 1960 in McCook and was there until 1973 when the family moved to Grand Island for two years while he served on the Liquor Commission.  In 1975, the family moved back to his parents’ ranch to take over for Harold “Pete” and Nita Brohman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold “Pete” and Nita Brohman; and father-in-law Arnold “Andy” Neben. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; sons Mark (Anessa) of Lincoln; Jeff (Marlene) Lake Worth, FL; and Jon of Callaway; granddaughters Mikayla, Megan, Miranda, and Marti; special family Randy “Bowser” and Tammy Coons and their daughters Jessica, Cassy, and Brandi of Callaway; mother-in-law Alice Neben of Broken Bow; brother Ronald “Joe” (Susan) of Helena, MT and sister Lynda Stoner of Litchfield, AZ; cousin Larry Brohman of Arnold; many nieces and nephews. His granddaughters were the love of his life.  He died on his own terms, sorting cattle on his ranch with his son Jon.  He was on the Callaway Rural Fire Board for 34 years, member of the Elks Club for 57 years, and past member and President of the Seven Valley’s Rodeo Association. Services were held Monday, November 7, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Callaway, followed by burial in the Buffalo Lutheran cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Callaway Rural Fire Board. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow assisted the family.
