Robert Seeger

December 22, 1931 — November 8, 2016

Robert "Bob" William Seeger was called home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2016 from his home on Johnson Lake NE. Bob was born December 22nd, 1931 to William and Estella Seeger. He lived on a farm north of Broken Bow and attended a rural school until the 3rd grade.  His father then sold the farm and moved the family into Broken Bow. In 1948 he met Bonnie Jean Trotter and they married in June 1950 in Taylor NE at the Assembly of God Church. Into this union three children were born, Connie Lea, William James, and Beverly Jo-Ann. Bob worked in construction and as a mechanic. Then after several years of marriage, Bob decided to further his education  so the family moved to Kearney, NE and he attended Kearney State College, majoring in Biology. After Graduation,  they returned to Broken Bow where he taught Jr. High Science for 30 years.  He especially liked teaching Astronomy and continued to set up his telescope on fall nights, even after his retirement. Bob enjoyed many years of retirement at Johnson Lake. He enjoyed spending his days fishing and boating. He always looked forward to the family coming together on holidays and weekends. He felt like this brought them closer together. Bob accepted Christ as his savior in December of 1964. At the time of his death he was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington, and had been a member of the Gideons since 1973. Bob is survived by his wife Bonnie of 66 years, and his children, Connie and Steve Palmer of Kearney NE, Bill and Ann Seeger of Lincoln, NE, and Bev and Roger Rice of Ord, Ne, his grandchildren, Tresia and Kiley White, Daryl and Stacie Palmer, Lori and Jeremy Johnson, Bob and Kaytlin Seeger, Libby and Adam McIntosh, Colin Rice, and Ella Rice, and nine great grand children, Christapher, Aaron, Arizona, Aria, Eden, Kyrie, Evelyn, and William, and his brother George Seeger of Florida, and sister Anna Bendowski of North Platte. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Estella Seeger.
