Gwendola Palmer age 82.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Seth Bates and Pastor Jim Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Thedford at 2:00 PM on Saturday November 19, 2016.  Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.  Visitation will held on Friday 8 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 5 PM to 6 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary.  Gwendola Dencie Palmer was born on July 15, 1934 at Dunning, Nebraska to August & Percilla (Fisher) Hauser.  Gwen passed away on November 14, 2016 at the Brookestone View Care Home in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Gwen was raised in the Calf Creek community near Thedford, Nebraska. She graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1953 from Thomas County High School and was awarded an Honor Scholarship Certificate to the Nebraska State Teachers Colleges. On May 26, 1953, she was united in marriage to Charles Junior Wilson. To this union five children were born, Charles, Percilla, Anna, Danny and Connie. The family lived in various locations before settling in Thedford, Nebraska for several years. In 1967, the family moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska where Gwen lived until her death.  Charles died in 1976, leaving Gwen to finish raising their children.  Through the years she worked at the Gibson Discount Center in Broken Bow for fourteen and a half years, retiring in 1992. Gwen married Robert (Bob) Palmer on November 24, 1990. With this marriage, she acquired two beloved stepchildren, Ronald and Roberta Ann (Bobbi). Throughout their marriage Gwen and Bob enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling to visit family and friends, as well as gardening and various crafts. All her children, and many of her grandchildren were recipients of one of her Star Quilts.  After Bob’s death in 2004, Gwen continued to be active in her churches, the United Methodist Church as her children were growing up and later the First Christian Church. She especially enjoyed the fellowship of her Bible Study groups and helping with many church dinners over the years. Gwen is survived by her children; Chuck (Nancy) Wilson of Belgrade, MT, Percilla (Paul) Lattin of Mullen, NE, Anna (Bill) Bellinger of North Platte, NE, Danny (Candy) Wilson of Meadow Grove, NE, and Connie (David) Wilson of Elm Creek, NE. Step children Bobbi (John) Zerck of Alliance, NE, Ron (Mary Ann) Palmer of Golden Valley, AZ. Sixteen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. Her brother, Burdell Hauser of Hanford, CA, sister-in-law MaryAnn Hauser of Broken Bow, NE and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Charles Wilson and Robert Palmer, her parents; August and Percilla Hauser, brother Aloysius Hauser, and sister and brother in law; Beatta and Edgar Jameson.
