Gary Predmore

Gary Predmore age 74 of Holdrege,died Thursday November 24, 2016 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Christ in Sargent, NE with Pastor Wayne Hasselquist officiating.  Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery west of Sargent.  A visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.  Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorials will be decided at a later date. Gary Gene Predmore was born January 23, 1942  at  the farm home of Rufus and Bula (Hall) Predmore 7 mites west of Sargent. He joined a brother, Keith, and a sister,Joyce. As a child he attended Table Land Rural School until it   closed in 1950 and the students were transferred into Sargent. As a boy he enjoyed rural farm life as all kids did -- from riding horses,to any chores he was assigned,to working in the hay field. In March 1958 Gary and his parents moved into Sargent and he graduated high school there in 1960. During high school he worked at various jobs including the locker plant where he learned the meat cutting trade. On June 16, 1962 he married Jeraldean (Jeri) McKnight in Sargent, Nebraska and they became the parents of two children,Robby Gene and Pamela Verleen. During their early married life they lived in the rural areas of Anselmo and Merna where he worked for Steve and Wanda Cooksley farming and ranching for 14 years. This was a time Gary often talked about and thoroughly enjoyed. ln 1976 he began workingfor Coop Non-Stock where he drove transports for them for over 32 years. In 1980 he was transferred to Sargent and this is where his children graduated. In 2000 he and Jeri moved to Holdrege where he was transferred. He retired in   2008. Gary enjoyed fishing,playing softball and league bowling when he was young but his favorite pastime was hunting. He always looked forward to deer hunting season - first with his son and son-in-law and later with his grandsons. This was a yearly event and celebration. Gary was a faithful husband,father and employee and a loyal friend to everyone. He is  survived by his wife, Jeraldean; son Rob (Teresa) Predmore of Lincoln; daughter Pamela (Mitch) Becker of Rockville; grandsons Matt (Andrea) Mulkey of Lincoln and Tyler Mulkey of Chicago, Illinois; Derrick (Kelsi) Becker of Loup City and William Becker of London,England; two great-granddaughters,Olivia and Isabella Mulkey of Lincoln; one soon to be arriving great grandchild of Loup City; one sister, Joyce Meyers of O'Neill; two nephews, Lonnie (Barb) Allison of Kearney and Todd Meyers of O'Neill; and one niece, Jeanne (Frank} Andelt of Lincoln; one broth-in-law,Charles McKnight of Grand Island; one sister-in-law, Betty Grim of Lingle WY. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,Baby Junior Lysle and Keith Lavern at age 21; one half-brother, Harold (Marie) Predmore ; one half-sister, Florance (Hugh) Russell; parents-in-law, Slim and Elaine Allison;one sister-in-law, Eleanor Pedrick; two brothers-in-law, Rolland Pedrick and Gene Meyers and two nieces,Kathy Pedrick and Heather Greene.
