Donald Ambler

Donald (Don) R. Ambler Sr. of Arnold passed away November 29th, 2016 at the Grand Island VA Medical Center. Don was born on July 9th, 1944 in Arnold, NE to Glenn and Margaret (Galbreath) Ambler. He grew up in the Arnold, Callaway and Anselmo areas. Don and Vicki lived in Arnold for many years before they moved to Chanlder, AZ in 1986. They returned to Arnold in 2012.   Don is survived by his wife of 53 years Vicki (Scott), children Leslie (Blayne) Patrick of Castle Rock,CO, Christie (Anselm) Beatson of Littleton,CO, and Donald R .Jr. (Aimee) of Thatcher, AZ; Grandchildren Charlotte and Alexander Beatson and Scott and Glen Ambler; sisters Aleta (Conrad) Pelster of Anselmo, Annette (Alan) Kramer of Stapleton and brother Robert (Cindy) of Broken Bow along with numerous extended family and friends.   Don was preceeded in death by his parents, Sister Bonnie Cummerford, and Grandsons Kyle and Donald Ray Ill.   Don was a member of the Arnold American Legion and a member of the Elks for 46 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many friends. He enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors, golfing and trips to Mexico.   A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire staff at the Grand Island VA Medical Center for the wonderful care Don received.
