Everett Moninger, age 86 of Merna, Nebraska died Wednesday November 30, 2016 at the Brookstone View care home in Broken Bow, Ne. with his family at his side. Private family graveside funeral services will be held Monday December 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Merna Cemetery at Merna, Nebraska with Larry Coleman officiating. Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1 to 6 at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Memorials may be made to Asera Care Hospice. John Everett Moninger was born September 21, 1930 in Milburn, Nebraska to John E. and Luella (Fales) Moninger. He attended school in Milburn, Gates, and Merna schools, graduating from Merna High School in 1949. On August 1, 1951 Everett married Arlene Hall, and they farmed and ranched in the Merna/Anselmo community, where he was known for his hard work. Everett is survived by his wife of 65 years Arlene Moninger of Merna, Ne., 2 sons John Moninger of Ord, Ne., and Jerry Moninger of Anselmo, Ne., 2 daughters Linda Sterner-Hansen of Merna, Ne., and Lisa (Rod) Yanagida of Roca, Ne. Grandchildren Tim and Jen Sterner of North Platte, Ne. Terry and Colleen Sterner of Merna, Ne., Travis and Wynne Sterner of Merna, Ne., Chris and Deb Moninger of Arnold, Ne., Dell and Kristine Moninger of Broken Bow, Ne., and Tiffany, Ryan, Jennifer, Amy Yanagida of Lincoln, Ne., 2 sisters Jane Killion of Chappel, Ne., and Evelyn Olson of Merna, Ne. Great grandchildren Jace, Jacob, Dalton, William, Brandon, Ryan, Keeley, Kane, Caleb, Judd, Sieanne, and 2 on the way. Also his beloved dog Sam. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, and 8 brothers and sisters.
