Kara Amsberry, age 49, died January 1, 2017 at her home in Ansley, NE. Kara, was born in Broken Bow, NE on October  3, 1967 to Garland and Carolyn Lane of Westerville, NE. Kara attended school in Westerville until 8th grade, and then finished her education at Ansley Public Schools, graduating in 1985. Kara attended Joseph's College of Beauty in Grand Island. Following graduation she worked as a hair stylist in Ansley, opening her own business, Mai n Street Styles, in 1988. She was passionate about making her customers look good and feel good, as well as the contribution her business made in the community. June 27, 1987 Kara was married to Rod Amsberry. Together they raised two sons, Garett James Amsberry born September 6, 1994, and Wade Lane Amsberry, born on October 30, 1997. Kara's family was the light of her life. She loved her home and the life she and Rod had made together. Kara was an active member of the Ansley  United Methodist Church and the Ansley community in general. One of her greatest joys was being involved with her children's school activities. She was a central figure in the Ansley-Litchfield   Booster club and FFA. Her floats in the annual parade were always a highlight. She was well known for her ability to   organize an event, manage the details and make the event successful. She will always be remembered for her love of keeping her home and yard beautiful. She was happiest outside on the mower or working in her flowerbeds. Throughout the years, Kara gifted us with an event, known to her family simply as "Gingerbread Day". This year was no exception as she made 23 full size gingerbread houses for the family to decorate together. Kara is survived by her husband Rod of Ansley, two sons; Garett and Wade Amsberry of Ansley, her parents, Garlyn and Carolyn Lane of Westerville, her sister Robyn Ruzicka of Edgemont, SD and her mother in law Marylin Amsberry of Ansley.  She was preceded in death by her father in law Gary Jim Amsberry.
