Marceil Faye (Christensen) Millsap, daughter of Christian and Elsie Ogal (Wright) Christensen was born July 31, 1928 in Berwyn, Nebraska, and passed away in Broken Bow, Nebraska February 10, 2017 at the age of 88. Marceil spent her whole life in the Berwyn community. She attended school in Berwyn, graduating from Berwyn High School in 1945. She worked in the office of Central Nebraska Commission Company on sale days, and was secretary at the Custer County Extension Office for 12 years. On November 25, 1956 she married James E. Millsap (Jim) at the Methodist Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska. They built their current home on a farm east of Berwyn. They were the parents of three children, Cheri, Kristi, and Dean. Marceil became a member of the Berwyn Methodist Church at the age of 10. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years, was church organist and served her church in many ways. She held several offices in the Berwyn United Methodist Women. When the Berwyn Church closed in 2000, she transferred her membership to the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. She was faithful in her attendance, the “Pairs and Spares” Sunday School Class and the Guild Circle of United Methodist Women. She belonged to the Berwyn Sunflower Extension Club until it dissolved in 2005, and Custer Couples group since its beginning in 1959. She received the “Homemaker of the Year” award by the Custer County Extension Clubs and in 1994, the “Good Neighbor” award by Ak-Sar-Ben. She was happiest when she could be doing something for her church, family and others. Marceil is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Cheri Berggren (Erik) of Topeka, Kansas, Kristi Schopp (Todd) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dean Millsap (Michelle) of Berwyn, Nebraska and nine grandchildren; Kensy Byers (Bryant), Destri Millsap (Jordan), Quinton Berggren (Jami), Shaley Miller (Dustin), Taylor Pearson, Jacy Millsap, Kaden Schopp, April Pearson, Tannah Schopp, and one great grandchild, Beckett Miller. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Donna Jambor (Larry) of Denton, Texas and Karen Christensen of Broken Bow, Nebraska, step-sister-in-law, Kathleen Petersen (Lloyd) of Littleton, Colorado, step-brother-in-law, Joe Bendowsky of Wichita, Kansas, and many other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Jens Michael (Mic) Christensen and Marvin C Christensen and his wife Patricia; sister, Margaret Beversdorf and her husband Roy.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 9 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 5 PM to 7 PM at Govier Brothers. Memorials are suggested to the Broken Bow United Methodist Church.
