George L. Hagman

June 19, 1929 — February 24, 2017

George L. Hagman, age 87, of Broken Bow, Nebraska died Friday February 24, 2017 at his home in Broken Bow. Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday February 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska with Rev. Todd Karges officiating.   Inurnment will be at a later date in the Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton, Ne.  A register book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, Monday February 27th.  A memorial will be decided at a later date. George L. Hagman was born June 19, 1929 in Fullerton, Nebraska to Frank and Bula (Weeks) Hagman. He was raised on a farm west of town.  George attended a one room school near where they lived and then attended Fullerton High School. On April 8, 1951 George married Ruth Marie Hopwood at Fullerton.  They have 2 children. He joined the US Air force on December of 1951.  He was discharged on the 12th of December of 1955 as a staff Sergeant.  He then went to Diesel School in Kansas City, MO.  He was employed by Ruff Motors and Custer Public Power District.  After that he worked as a heavy equipment operator.  George later became self employed and had an appliance repair business and a cedar tree cutting business.           George and Ruth are members of the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.  George L. Hagman is survived by his wife Ruth Hagman of Broken Bow, a daughter Debra Kelly and husband Dave Horst of Omaha, NE, a son Doug Hagman and wife Brenda of Broken Bow, NE, 4 grandsons and  9 great grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Dale and Alvin.
