Axtell, NE- Marlyn Derman age 83 of Axtell formerly of Sargent, died February 27, 2017 at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent with Pastor Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Sargent. Visitation will be held on Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow and Friday afternoon 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Marlyn Derman was born on June 10, 1933 at Broken Bow, NE to Herman and Olga (Graf) Derman. He was married to Lois Van Ostrand in 1966. They made their home near Sargent. Marlyn worked for Mark and Eleanor Penny for 20 years. They later inherited the farm from the Penny family. Marlyn and Lois lived there until moving to Axtell in the fall of 2015. Marlyn is survived by his wife Lois of Axtell, sons; Bill (Marianna) Derman, of Axtell, Mark Derman of Cortland, NE, and Jerry Derman of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by his sister Lois Bone of Lexington, NE, two brothers, Victor (Mary Lou) Derman of North Platte, NE, and Merlin (Bernice) Derman of Ft. Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
