Jerry Hallman

Jerry L. Hallman age 70 of Ansley, Nebraska passed away Wednesday March 8, 2017 south of Berwyn Nebraska.  Memorial services will be held Monday March 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Ansley Christian Church with Reverend Stacy Erstrom officiating.  Burial will be in the Westerville Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday March 12, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm in the Ansley Christian Church.  Memorials will be designated at a later date.  Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Jerry Lee Hallman was born August 27, 1946 in Loup City, Nebraska to Glen and Irene Hallman.  Jerry attended grade school in the Box Elder Country School (east of Ansley). He graduated from Ansley High School in 1964.  He worked at the McMurtrey Ranch south of Nenzel, Nebraska, where he met his wife Rella McMurtrey.  They married September 8, 1965. To this union three children were born:  Deanna Lynn, John Erba, and Justin Boone.   Jerry farmed and ranched in the Mason City and Ansley, Nebraska areas until the time of his death.   He is survived by wife Rella; daughter Deanna and husband Gary Peterson of Sherman Lake; son Justin Hallman  and significant other Tracy Konefal of Ansley, Nebraska.  Also surviving are grand children Preston John  Peterson and fiancé LeAnn Larreau of Kearney, Nebraska; and Megan Elizabeth Peterson of Sherman Lake; sister Janice McMurtrey and significant other Terry Johnson of Rapid City ,  South Dakota; brother Robert Hallman of Storm Lake, Iowa.  Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.   He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Irene (Bouma) Hallman, his son John Erba Hallman and Brother Dean.   Jerry will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members.
