Joseph John Horky, age 91, of Sargent, Ne. passed away March 16, 1917 at his home in Sargent. Joseph was born June 8, 1925 to Joseph and Anna (Bartunek) Horky on the family farm in Cummings Park. His childhood was taking care of his family, because his father died when he was 11 years old. On January 1, 1945 Joe married Marian E. Gibbens in Broken Bow. They were married for 71 years. To this union, four children were born, Janeane, Connie, Joseph, and Jerry. They lived and farmed in the Cummings Park area about forty years, they moved to Sargent when they retired. Joe and Marian lived to visit with family and traveling, They were especially proud of their grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 21st at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Sargent with Rev. Don Schauda officiating. Visitation will be Monday March 20th 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Sargent. Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Joseph is survived by 2 daughter Janeane (Bernard) Nichols of Berwyn, Nebraska, Connie (Larry) Bottorf of Sargent, Nebraska. 1 son Joe (Cindy) Horky of Sargent, Nebraska. 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marian, infant son, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
