Patricia Dickey

Grand Island, NE- Patricia Dickey (Pat) age 86 of Grand Island died March 21, 2017 at her home in Grand Island.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island with Father Martin Egging officiating.  Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Broken Bow.  A Visitation will be held on Saturday morning 9:00 AM until service time at the Blessed Sacrament Church.  Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is assisting the family.     Patricia L (Hanneman) Dickey was born August 1, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Frederic and Dorothy (Wilson) Hanneman.  She attended school in Lincoln.  Patricia moved with her family to Hemingford and graduated from Hemingford High School in 1948.  She met and married Alvin O. Dickey September 8, 1949 at St. Bridgets Church in Hemingford.  Alvin worked for the railroad and they lived in Hemingford until 1953, Broken Bow 1953-1972, and Grand Island 1973-1988.  Patricia worked until 1992 for the Broken Bow and Grand Island Schools in food service.  Patricia enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and an occasional horse race. Patricia loved her family and especially her grand children and great grand children.   Patricia Dickey is survived by four daughters, Sharon Russell of Clarks, Ne.,  Linda (Terry) Rosentreader of Ansley, Ne., Marilyn (Lawrence) Adams of Lincoln, Ne., and Brenda Shipps of Grand Island, Ne.  11 grandchildren Tony (Dawn) Rosentreader, Krista (Mike) Stefan, Nathan (Michelle) Rosentreader, Chris (Star) Russell, Patrick (Beth) Russell, Chad (Jamie) Adams, Dave (Victoria) Adams, Dan (Shawna) Adams, Deric (Jennifer) Shipps, Jarad Shipps, and Tiffany (Joe) Lavene, 24 great grandchildren, two brothers Phillip Hanneman of Oceanside, Cal., and William Hanneman of Fairland, Indiana, 1 sister Rita Bergfield of Hemingford, Ne.  Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin,  granddaughter Linsay, son-in-law Samuel, one sister Shirley, and three brothers Jack, Robert, and Richard.
