Broken Bow, Ne- Dale Zimmerman age 76 of Broken Bow died Thursday October 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow. Services will be held Monday November 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Jerry Ricketts officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday November 1, 2009 1 PM to 6 PM with the family greeting friends 3 Pm to 4 Pm at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials will be decided by the family at a later date. On line condolences may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com . Dale Zimmerman was born July 29, 1933 in Custer County southwest of Dunning to Lester William and Reta (Joy) Zimmerman. He went to school at Hoosier Valley near Anselmo, NE. Dale married DeLilah Saner on July 29, 1951 in Dunning, NE. They ranched in the Milburn and Anselmo area. They purchased the land east of Dunning and moved there in 1963. They lived there until 1994 and moved to Broken Bow to retire. Dale and DeLilah had five children, BeLinda, MaLinda Sue, Dail Ann, Leon and Lynn. Dale enjoyed the western way of life such as rodeo as he participated in bareback, calf roping and steer wrestling in his early days. Later in life, Dale enjoyed team roping and team penning. Dale enjoyed the cattle drives each spring to the Anselmo ranch. Dale liked to hunt, fish and trap wildlife on the river ranch. Dale and DeLilah enjoyed playing cards, attending grandchildren activities, and going square dancing as they attended four national conventions. Dale is survived by his wife DeLilah, sons Leon (Debra) Zimmerman of Broken Bow, Lynn (Julie) Zimmerman of Dannebrog, daughters BeLinda (Timothy) Tibbs of Ravenna, MaLinda Sue (Ken) Johnston of Brewster, and Dail Ann (Rickie) Helzer of Cairo, fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Marolyn (Donald) Thomas of Westminster, CO, and Carolyn Franks of Westminster, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin grandchildren Tonya and Shelly, and a brother Duane.
