Alvie, Pomplun, age 83, of Broken Bow, Ne. Died January 1, 2010 at his home in Broken Bow
Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday January 5th at 2 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Rev. Roger McDermott officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Monday January 4th 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Alvie Lee Pomplun was born May 9, 1926 at Callaway, Ne. to Bertrand R. and Marie M. (Olson) Pomplun. Alvie graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1943. On July 11, 1946 he married Jean (Alspaugh) and they made their home in Broken Bow. Alvie was a car dealer for Ruff Motors and Arrow Motors in Broken Bow and was a manager for the Broken Bow Elks Club. He loved dogs, gardening, hunting, fishing, and antiques. Alvie gave his life in trust to the Lord and was baptized in December, 1956.
Alvie is survived by his wife Jean of Broken Bow, daughter Robin and husband Terry Zeigler of Rockport, Missouri, son Randy and wife Lorie Pomplun of Fullerton, Ne. Four grandchildren Leigh and husband Seth Ivey, Sarah and husband Grady Gigstad, Lisa Pomplun, and Brian Pomplun. Three great grand children Lauryn, Zane, and Kendal. A sister Helen Hoffman of Nyssa, Or.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
