James R. Hunt

James R. Hunt age 77 of Anselmo, NE died January 13, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo, NE with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. A Wake service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo. Interment will be at Ortello Valley Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are being established. James R. Hunt was born December 26, 1932 at Merna, NE to Almer “Downer” and Doris (Sauerberg) Hunt. He was united in marriage to Anna Tully on April 19, 1952. Survivors include his wife Anna of Anselmo, daughters Judy (Ron) Jacobsen of Merna, Jodi (Greg) Smith of Milburn and Jeanne (Michael) Downey of Benkelman. One son A.D. (Michaela) Hunt of Anselmo. Fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One sister Helen Reynolds of Merna and a sister in law Agnes Hempstead of Anselmo. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Lyle Hempstead, grandchildren Jonathan Jacobsen, Robert James Smith and Abbey Smith.
