Broken Bow- Lucille Payne age 92 of Broken Bow died Wednesday May 5, 2010 at the Off Broadway Assisted Living in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Reverend Dale Coates officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the Broken Bow or Merna EMT’s. Visitation will be held Friday 1 PM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6 PM to 7 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary.
Lucille Fern Payne was born December 17, 1917 at Broken Bow, NE to Lewis David and Gertrude (Pywell) Cook. She graduated from Berwyn High School. On August 12, 1937 she was married to Gordon Payne at Ord, Nebraska. They lived most of their married lives in Broken Bow. Lucille worked for thirty years at the Custer County Treasures office. Mr. Payne died in 1981.
Lucille was member of the Custer County Campers and was a past member of the Broken Bow D.O.E.S.
Lucille is survived by her daughter Jan Geiser of Merna, ten grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Other survivors include her son in law Joe Burnett of Merna and brother in law Marvin (Carole) Payne of Broken Bow.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, daughter Reva Burnett, brothers Wayne, Clyde and Don Cook, sister Rosalee Pracht and son in law Ivan Geiser.
