Louise Darlene Wolford Louise D. Wolford age 90 of Broken Bow died November 7, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Rev. Mark Stones officiating. Interment will be in the Westerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice. Louise Darlene Wolford was born April 23, 1920 at Westerville, NE to Alpheus and Edna (Fiscus) Casteel. Louise grew up on the family farm and attended Cherryville school. After her education she worked on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Raymond Wolford. They made their home near Westerville then moved to the West End area of Loup County. They later moved to Victoria Springs area and then purchased the ranch near Milburn. Louise moved to Broken Bow in 1979 after the death of Raymond. She worked at various places including the Elks club, William Penn motel and Connelly Camper Corner. Louise enjoyed quilting, dancing, gardening, crocheting, needlepoint, cattle sales, playing cards, traveling, cooking and baking. She loved having coffee at the City Cafe with the girls and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her grandchildren Peggy Thompson of Denver, CO., Dennis Payne of Norfolk, VA. and Anita (Jeff) Powers of Grand Island. Great grandchildren Tyler Thompson, Ryan Payne, Alec and Haley Powers, one sister Genevieve Laux of Hastings, NE. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, daughter Charlotte and three sisters Maxine, Pauline and Leone.
