North Platte, NE- Anna F. Bendowsky age 88 of North Platte formerly of Broken Bow passed away on May 1, 2017 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.   Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Tyce Jensen officiating.  Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.  A register book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. .  Online condolences may be shared at govierbrothers.com.   She was born February 19, 1929 to William T. and Estella (Stutzman) Seeger at home outside of Custer Center, NE where she grew up before moving to Broken Bow, NE.  Anna graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1946. Anna started working for Northwestern Bell in 1946.  She met Ken Bendowsky and they were married in 1948.  She retired from Northwestern Bell in 1964.  She held various jobs in Broken Bow and began working for the Police Department in 1976.  She was affectionately referred to as “Police Woman” and retired in 1992.  Anna was a volunteer swimming instructor, 4-H Leader, VFW Auxiliary member, and was an active member of the Community Theatre.  Anna and Ken spent a lot of time playing cards with the Foxes and Eberles.  She also spent many Sunday Buffet days helping her “little sister”, Ann Fox, at the City Café.  Later, Anna and Ken moved to Owatonna, MN where they spent many “after school” days with their granddaughters. In 2010, Anna moved back to North Platte and resided at Premier Estates.  She and Deb enjoyed participating in all of the activities.  Anna and Deb always had the most outrageous outfits at the party, and many fancy hats!  She loved to play bingo, dominos, cards, and loved attending the classes and parties at the facility.  She was an avid sports fan – she loved going to any kind of ball game and always enjoyed watching sports on TV.  Anna was a master at crossword puzzles and she loved to read.  In 2015, Anna was moved into the Full Care facility at Centennial Park.  The staff and volunteers took excellent care of her.  She loved to drink coffee and the staff always made sure that her cup was full.  She always had kind words for the staff and the residents at the home. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, her daughter Diedre, and her brothers Bob and George. She is survived by daughters Deb (Frank) Tanner, North Platte, and Jan (Craig) Nelson, Blooming Prairie, MN.; grandchildren, Chris (Stacy) Tanner, Joshua Tanner, Brenna Nelson, Abbey Nelson; great granddaughter, Ashley (Cody) Czarnek, and great great grandson, Dexter Czarnek. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Broken Bow Library fund
