Mullen, NE – Archie Boyd Crisp age 74 of Mullen passed away to be with the Lord on November 16, 2020 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM MT at the Sandhills Community Bible Church in Mullen with Pastor Bob Teters officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Cedarview Cemetery at Mullen. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Sandhills Community Bible Church, Mullen Ambulance, or the Donor’s Choice. Govier Brothers Mortuary/Mullen Funeral Home is assisting the family. Archie Boyd Crisp was born on October 7, 1946 to Kenneth Wayne and Doris (Burnett) Crisp in Ponca, OK. He grew up in Denver and Fort Morgan, CO. Archie attended school in Fort Morgan and graduated in 1964.
On July 24, 1965 Archie was married to Karen Jean Mese at Fort Morgan. To this union two sons were born, Bryan Lee Crisp and Douglas Anthony Crisp. He joined the Army and was honorably discharged after three years of service on March 20, 1969.
After the service, the family moved back to Fort Morgan, where Archie went to work for the US Postal Service. After retiring Archie and Karen moved to Mullen, NE in 2003 to be closer to family.
He loved building and flying ultra-lights, prospecting for gold and racing stock cars. His favorite ways to help pass the time was reading and watching history shows. He enjoyed spending time and having coffee and sharing stories with friends.
Archie was the oldest of three children, a brother Les Crisp and a sister Brenda Crisp Edwards.
Archie was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his wife.
Archie is survived by sons; Bryan (Lynnette) Crisp of Mullen, NE, and Douglas(Wendy) Crisp of Sundance, WY; grandchildren Tanner (Katie) Crisp of Mullen, NE, Lauren Hollenbeck of Mullen, NE, Ashley (Josh) Idler of Sundance, WY, Kayla (Eric) McCue of Pine Haven, WY, great-grandchildren Riggin Hollenbeck of Mullen, NE, Kinley Crisp of Mullen, NE, Nevaeh, Jashlyn, Hunter, Archer, Trapper, Walker, Aspen and Leroy Idler of Sundance, WY, Andrew and Carson McCue of Pine Haven, WY; brother Leo Crisp of Wiggins, CO; sister Brenda Edwards of Kittanning, PA; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.
