Arthur David Dubs

November 12, 1935 — March 21, 2020

Arthur David Dubs age 84 of Ashby passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Mullen at the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home.

He was born November 12, 1935, in Hyannis, NE to Hans and Leola (Harzel-Johansen) Dubs. He graduated from the Ashby High School in 1953. On June 6, 1954 he married Carol Ewoldt and they celebrated 65 years of marriage together.

Art spent all his years on the family ranch south of Ashby. During his younger years he helped Leroy, Raymond, Bill, and Cy Sutton, and Art Sowden to work cattle and other ranch jobs during the week, then on the weekends he would have the school aged kids from home help do the work that needed to be done on the ranch. He was a hard worker and loved his cows and horses. He could tell you what calf came from what cow clear back to her great-grandma and what bull it was out of. He raised work and riding horses all his life. He worked horses for years to feed the cows and hay with. He bought his first Simmental bull in 1967 from Leroy Sutton.

Art loved to visit with his grandkids when they came to visit and then he really enjoyed his great grandkids, when they could go with him to see his cows or help do something on the ranch.

Art was preceded in death by this parents, parent-in-law Jack, brother Jack, sister Hazel, half-brother Pete, two sons Terry and Lonna, daughter Shirley, daughter-in-law Rita, grandson Louis, and granddaughters Jennifer, and Jeanna Standage.

Art is survived by his wife Carol, sons Dwyane Dubs of Ashby, Mick Dubs of Ashby, Robert (Kim) Dubs of North Platte, Loren (Diane) Dubs of Ashby, Tom Dubs of Elba and David Dubs of West Virginia, daughters Artis (Bill) Hicks of Mullen, Robyn Standage of Hershey, and Meladi (Mike) Roseberry of Sidney, sister Enid Kicken of Shelton, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one on the way.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
