Audrey Kissell age 92 of Broken Bow formerly of Sargent died January 29, 2022, at Brookestone View Care Home in Broken Bow.
Memorial services will be held on February 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Don Schauda officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Sargent at 2:00 PM. Memorials will be decided by family at a later date. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Audrey M. Kissell was born on December 3, 1929, at Palmyra, NE to Harold D. and Doris (Baldwin) Maloy. Audrey graduated from Palmyra High School and later graduated from Wesleyan Teachers College in Lincoln. While attending college Audrey met Duane D. Kissell at a dance at The University of Nebraska, where Duane was attending college. The couple was married on June 14, 1952.
After Duane’s service in the Navy, the couple moved to the Kissell family farm west of Sargent in 1956. Audrey worked side by side with Duane. She milked cows (41 years), fed cows, and helped with all aspects on the farm. Duane died in 2005. Audrey moved to Arbor care in Ord, then eventually Brookestone View Care Home in Broken Bow.
Audrey enjoyed horses. She rode five gaited horses in English style. Audrey was also equally talented riding bareback. She loved music and played the piano especially enjoying violin duets with her father. She also did crochet, sewing, gardening, canning, and helping her children with 4-H projects.
Audrey is survived by her son Greg (Sue) Kissell of Sargent, a daughter Laura Lea (Jeff) Miller of Kansas City, MO, three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duane, a son Kirk, brother Eugene Maloy, sister in law Viola Maloy and daughter in law Wendy (Dearmont) Kissell.
