Betty Knoell age 93 of Broken Bow, NE passed away January 16, 2022, at the CHI Good Samaritan Health in Kearney, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 21, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, NE with Father Jim Hunt as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Anselm’s Catholic Cemetery in Anselmo, NE. Rosary will be Friday at 9:30 am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Anslem’s Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with family greeting 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Betty Louise Myers Knoell was born May 8, 1928, in Broken Bow to Lewis A. and Emma (Young) Myers. Betty grew up in the Lillian Community and graduated from Broken Bow High School. On November 26, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Emilian “Budge” Knoell at Anselmo, NE. Betty and Budge welcomed the Catholic Sister’s into their home every summer for several years. Betty worked for Kelly Law and helped her husband with Knoell Construction. The couple moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1979, Budge passed away August 10, 1989, while in Arizona. Betty returned to Broken Bow in 1990, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, “especially Cottie Farritor”, traveling to visit family, doing puzzles, playing cards, and most of all taking care of others.
Betty is survived by her sons Mark (Vicki) of Show Low, AZ, Gary (Patty) of Broken Bow, and Patrick (Marty) of Old Saybrook, CT, five grandchildren: Chris (Kami) Knoell, Jake (Janae) Knoell, Kami (Jason) Tate, Rebecca (Chad) Duncan, and Katy (Sonny) Clark-Turner, 15 great grandchildren, sisters Roberta Davis of Broken Bow, Marge (Marlon) Cumpston of Kearney, and brother Lewis (Janet) Myers of Merna.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Emma, husband Budge, grandson Tim Knoell, sister Ramona Harrold, and brother-in-law Doyle Davis.
