Betty Jane Naber, 91, passed away January 10th, 2018 in Chandler, AZ. Betty was born on October 20, 1926 in Burwell, Nebraska to David and Della (Hodgson) Boag. She married Albert Conard and to this union were born two children, Carol and Kay. After divorcing, she moved to Grand Island and Lincoln, Nebraska where she worked at Woolworths. In 1957, she moved to Hasley, Nebraska where she worked at Bates Ranch and later managed Hebbs Café. In 1962, she married Allen Naber and they had a son; Dan. Allen and Betty made their home in Halsey, Nebraska where they farmed and ranched. After Allen passed in 1988 she worked at the Double T Bar and delivered mail. Betty was known for her work ethic, kindness, and wonderful cooking. She loved to play cards, gamble and even learned to enjoy fishing. When she was not working she loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were very important to her, especially getting the opportunity to spend time with her great granddaughter, Hadleigh. Even at the age of 91 her and Hadleigh never missed an opportunity to do something fun together. Betty was survived by her children, Carol (Linda) Conard of Burwell, Nebraska; Kay McMullen of Chandler, Arizona; Dan (Lori) Naber of Halsey, Nebraska and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen; parents; brother Mike Boag and sisters; Dorothy Fransen and Irene Walker, son-in-law Jerry McMullen and great granddaughter, ElLeigh Swisher. Graveside services will Saturday, January 20th, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Purdum Cemetery. Immediately after the service lunch will be provided at the Purdum church. Govier Brothers is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Halsey-Purdum Service Club.
