Bob Osterman

Robert “Bob” Osterman age 77 of Hyannis, NE passed away November 21, 2023, at the Highland Park Home in Alliance, NE.

Memorial Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on June 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM Mountain Time at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Alliance, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Hyannis Fire Department.

Robert Vincent Osterman was born September 12, 1946, in Omaha, NE to Stanley “Fritz” and Catherine (Brennan) Osterman. Bob attended and graduated in 1964 from Kilgore High School. In April 1965, Bob enlisted in the US Army and was Honorable discharged on January 27, 1968.  After the Army Robert lived in California, Colorado, and then returned to Kilgore. He worked for Cherry County. Bob met Marvel Anthony; the couple was united in marriage on December 15, 1978.

Bob worked for the Hayward Ranch for 27 years before having to retire due to Parkinson's Disease. The couple moved to Hyannis in 2005. Due to his declining health, Bob moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Home in Mullen and then to the Highland Parks Home in Alliance.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He was active in the Catholic Church, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents “Fritz” and Catherine, and a sister Rita.

Bob is survived by his wife Marvel of Hyannis, daughter Marie Osterman of Hyannis, granddaughter Neva Ducker (Ty Crabtree) of Norfolk, four siblings John Jack Osterman of Bentonville, AR, Joan Podsednik, of Kansas, Blane Osterman of Lincoln, and Bruce Osterman of Sibley, IA.
