Candra Palmer, age 63, of Broken Bow, NE passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at St. Elizabeth’s in Lincoln, NE.
Candra Lee (Ferguson) Palmer was born December 8, 1960, in Salina Kansas. Her family moved several times in her childhood to Omaha, Niobrara, Valentine, and Arcadia. She attended and graduated high school in Ansley, Nebraska in 1979, and then attended College in California.
In 1981, she returned to Nebraska and welcomed her first daughter Melinda while working at the Ansley Cafe. In the mid 80's, she got a job at the Custer County Highway Department, first mowing ditches and later becoming the Secretary and Bookkeeper where she worked happily until her passing.
In 1989, Candra was married to the love of her life Rodney Dean Palmer, and in 1990 they welcomed their son, Michael. In 1992, they welcomed a second daughter, Michelle whom after a short time went to be with the Lord. In 1994, Rod and Candra welcomed their last daughter, Katelyn.
Candra's biggest joys in her life were her children and later her grandchildren Miciah, Melakai, James, Oliver, and Kyzer. She always had a child in her arms. Candra was generous and kind and loved all people and her favorite quote was "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
Candra is survived by her husband, Rodney Palmer of Broken Bow NE; children, Melinda (Craig) Mohrman of Columbus NE, Michael (Nicoli) Palmer of Broken Bow NE, Katelyn Palmer of Columbus NE; grandchildren: Kelsi, Miciah, Melakai, James, Oliver, and Kyzer; father, Lawrence Ferguson of Ansley NE; brother, Larry (Gail) Ferguson; brother-in-Law: Steve (Connie) Palmer of Henderson NE; sister-in-Law, Sheri Palmer of Ansley NE; nieces and nephews, Jenny (Jim) Eberle, Nathan (Bobbi Joe) Ferguson, Tresia (Kiley) White, Daryl (Stacie) Palmer, Lori (Jeremy) Johnson, Cory (Angie) Palmer; and many great-nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle; mother, Beverly; mother and father-in-law, Kate and Lynn; brother-in-law, Wayne; grandparents; and several uncles.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE. Burial will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Custer Christian School. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
