Carol Lynn (Stansbury) Kasselder passed away June 3, 2017 at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas. Carol was an art instructor at the Broken Bow, Nebraska and Nebraska City schools. She also taught sixth grade for two years at North Park Elementary School in Broken Bow. Carol was born December 7, 1932 at Great Bend, Kansas to George and Berdine (Bowman) Stansbury of Pawnee Rock, Kansas. She was a graduate of Pawnee Rock High School and of Kansas State University with a degree in art education. Carol was married to Charles W. Kasselder, DVM, in 1964. They lived in Auburn, NE, where her husband practiced Veterinary Medicine. She taught art in Nebraska City, NE. Dr. And Mrs. Kasselder moved to Broken Bow, NE in 1966, where he practiced veterinary medicine with the United States Department of Agriculture and she resumed her teaching career. Carol was a member of the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. She was also a member and past Regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, a member and past president of the American Association of University Women, and served on many local boards. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and wintered in Mission, Texas. She continued her love of art as a painter for many years. Survivors include her two daughters and their spouses, Belinda McCoy and her husband, Col. James McCoy, of Lenexa, Kansas, and Melissa Warhurst and husband Perry Warhurst, of Lenexa, Kansas, and one son, Christopher Kasselder and wife, Tasha Kasselder of Carrollton, Georgia, and grandchildren Brandon and Bethany McCoy; Caitlin Warhurst and Lauren Serrone and husband Paul Serrone, and Ross and Penn Kasselder. A graveside service will be held at the Broken Bow Cemetery at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 21 with Pastor Todd Karges officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. Govier Brothers Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
