Carolyn Bunner age 83 formerly of Taylor, NE passed away January 31, 2025, at the House of Hope in Omaha, NE.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Loup County Event Center in Taylor, NE. Burial will follow in the Madison Square Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, and then on Wednesday, February 5th from 9:30 until service time at the Loup County Event Center in Taylor. Carolyn Janice Bunner was born January 31, 1942, in Sargent, NE to James and Anna (Gates) Hyde. Carolyn grew up on the ranch NW of Taylor, near Almeria. While in high school, Carolyn was a majorette for 4 years, enjoying music, and singing. Carolyn had a beautiful Soprano voice. Carolyn taught all their children music. Graduating from Taylor High School. Carolyn attended college at the Business School in Lincoln. After college, she worked at the County Extension office in Burwell.

On February 10, 1962, Carolyn was united in marriage to her childhood sweetheart Royce Bunner at the Assembly of God Church in Taylor. Royce was enlisted in the Air Force at that time. The couple lived in Portland, OR. When Royce was sent overseas during the Vietnam War, Carolyn moved with her family to Kearney. When Royce was discharged from the Air Force, the couple lived in Kearney, Grand Island, and settled in Omaha. Carolyn worked odd jobs while raising their family. Once the kids were older, she worked at First National Bank in Omaha for 20 years. In 2007, Royce and Carolyn moved to Ansley to be near family after Royce’s stroke. After Carolyn was diagnosed with Dementia the couple moved back to Omaha. Both living at the House of Hope.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents James & Anna, her in-laws, and sisters Angie Bunner and Charolette Kezior.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Royce, children LaLoni (Joe) Vas of Ansley, Lorina (Jim) Patterson of Louisiana, Linda Nyffler of Omaha, Steven (Tonja) Bunner of Omaha, Lisa (Matt) Linneman of Omaha, and Lavonne (Jeff) Glassbrenner of Leavenworth, KS, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother James Hyde, Jr of Kearney.
