Chase Christen, 40 years of age, of Broken Bow, passed away at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, due to an accident while helping neighbors move cattle to safety ahead of a large grass fire near Broken Bow. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow. Burial will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Family c/o Govier Brothers Mortuary at 542 South 9th Ave Broken Bow, NE 68822. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the family will greet from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Online words of encouragement may be left at www.govierbrothers.com

Chase Wayne Christen was born July 9, 1984, the eldest of three, at Broken Bow, NE to David and Evelyn (Hardy) Christen.

Chase was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, NE

He attended Round Valley School until the 6th grade, where he then attended Broken Bow Public Schools graduating in 2003. He was an active member in FFA and 4-H where he participated in everything available to him. He pursued higher education at NCTA while living in North Platte. He worked at Orschelns and the Walmart distribution center where he met Amber, the mother to his three children, Bailey, Hayden and Cordale. They were married on April 14th, 2007, after moving to Broken Bow in 2006. 

Chase then worked at Trotters in Broken Bow and has been employed by BD for 12 years. His true love was returning home to work on the family farm and raise his own Red Angus. He took over as leader of the Sandhill Critters 4-H club. There was no greater joy to him than being a dad and nothing came before that. He loved to host football parties, New Year's Eve parties, summer BBQs, and his favorite day of the year was his annual branding day. 

Chase was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Wayne and Bette (Lewis) Hardy; paternal grandparents: Eddie "Fritz" and Jean (Johnson) (Davis) Christen; Aunt Cris and many others who he cherished in his life.

Chase is survived by his children, Bailey, Hayden and Cordale. Significant other Erika Woods and her children; Tristan, Kaedon, Zoey and Harper. Parents, Dave and Evelyn Christen, Broken Bow, NE. Two sisters: Shanda (Brett) Blank of Axtell; Kelsey (John) Kuchar of Firth. Nieces and nephews: Brooke Slangal, Leanne Ellingson, Kailee Blank, Asher Kuchar, Brynn Kuchar. Multiple Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
