Deb spent her childhood in Broken Bow, Nebraska where she graduated high school in 1972. Soon after graduation she was married and had three children. Later on the family relocated to Lexington, Nebraska where Deb balanced a full time job, raising a family, and attending nursing school. Deb was a compassionate woman and had a knack for taking care of people. She used these talents in her work as an LPN-C at the Lexington hospital and care home. Her love for Kearney inspired her to relocate and spend the remainder of her years there. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, crafting, spending time at the cabin, and traveling. She especially loved being in the mountains. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, which inspired her hobby of collecting Santa memorabilia and reminded her of a visit to a place called Santa Land, with her brother Gary, as a child. Deb was sarcastic, nurturing, and bold. She had a quirky sense of humor, was the life of the party, and was most definitely not afraid to speak her mind. Debra’s strong influence touched many people. She will be greatly loved and missed by family and friends. Debra is survived by her father Donald Ellingson; children Stacy Lauby, Tim Lauby, Mandy Jantz; and grandchildren Courtney Lauby, Ryan Lauby, and Deakon Lauby. She was preceded in death by her mother Beverly Ellingson; and her brother Gary Ellingson.
