Delores Fetherston

February 17, 1937 — September 6, 2018

Delores Arlene (Dickey) Fetherston was born in Hemingford, NE to Oscar and Wilma Dickey on February 17, 1937. She lived in Heckla and Halsey, NE before moving to Anselmo, NE where she attended grade and high school.

She married Tom Fetherston on February 20, 1960, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church. They were married 58 years. They had one daughter, Shelley.

Delores worked at Cappy’s Cafe in Broken Bow and Smets Cafe in Anselmo before moving on to Becton Dickinson. She retired from B.D. in 1999 after 33 years.

Her home was the gathering place for family and friends. She loved to cook and especially loved seeing others enjoy her cooking. She made the best fried chicken and homemade noodles, as well as many other yummy treats. She loved flowers and spent many hours working in her beautiful yard. She loved to laugh, tease, and visit with friends and family. Many wonderful hours were spent on the front porch visiting with others. She was an avid fan of Nebraska volleyball. She also enjoyed a friendly card game with friends and/or attending a local coffee group.

Delores was a member of St. Anselm’s Church and Altar Society. She was a long time member of the Anselmo Ladies V.F.W. Auxillary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Alvin, Howard, and Dallas, and two sisters, Vivian and Cleone. She leaves behind her husband, Tom, daughter Shelley Wilson (Kurt) of Lincoln, grandson Seth Wilson of Lincoln, granddaughter Abby Perry (Brandon), and great-granddaughter, Olivia of Charlottesville, VA, sisters Norma Dickey of Lincoln, Wanda Nielsen (Greg) of Valentine, and brother Gene Dickey (Ardyce) of Cozad, and nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the family for a later designation.
