Edna Wilson

Funeral services will be Friday, June 24, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the Oconto Community Building in Oconto, NE with Pastor Ryan Finley officiating. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with family greeting 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary.  Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Edna Mae Tompkin Wilson was born January 13, 1923, at Lomax, NE to William T. and Nellie Mae (Whited) Tompkin. Edna was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the age of 99 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

Edna received a grade school education from several country schools including Oconto Public School.

Edna was married to John Lewis Wilson on January 1, 1945. The rest of her life was spent on the farm Southeast of Oconto.

Edna was an active member of the Oconto United Methodist Church until health no longer permitted her to attend.

Edna’s hobbies were gardening, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, and working outside with all the animals.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, one brother-in-law, and one grandson.

Edna is survived by her daughter Nadine (Dick) Brestel of Guthrie, OK, sons Darrell (Betty) Wilson of Oconto and Dale Wilson of Eatonville, WA, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one niece, three nephews, and many friends.
