Gerald Phillip Devine

April 21, 1934 — September 27, 2018

Gerald Devine was born April 21, 1934, in Seneca, Nebraska to Joseph and Elsie Devine. He died September 27, 2018, at his home in Mullen, Nebraska.

After graduation in 1952, he enlisted in the US Navy where he spent 12 years, including a combat tour during both the Korean War and Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Barbara, three sisters Laverna (Claris) Leach, Shirley (Paul) Rentfro and baby Norma.

He is survived by his wife Connie, brother Jim Devine, children Ray (Sharon) Ebarb, Gerald (Lynn) Devine Jr, Norma (Jed) Hahn, Donna Devine, LeeAnn (Eddie) Fullmer,  Mary Johnson, Misty (Garrett) Schmidt, and Sheena (Jared) Kolarik, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.

Gerald was well known for his outgoing personality and good humor. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and especially his family. He was a master of all trades, always able to fix anything and teaching his kids by always having them "help".

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 11:00 AM MST at the Seneca Auditorium in Seneca, NE.  A visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM MST at the Mullen Funeral Home in Mullen.  Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Military Honors.
