Virginia C. Gardner, 82, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, in her birthplace community of Callaway, Nebraska.

Virginia (Ginny) was born on October 27, 1941. She was one of seven children born to parents John and Maxine (Shipley Moore) Reinhard. Ginny graduated from Callaway High School with the class of 1959. On July 5, 1964, in Callaway, Virginia married Jerrold Gardner from Broken Bow. He was the love of her life. She worked as a typist, provided daycare out of her house, worked as a flagger for the Nebraska Department of Roads and for Great Western Sugar in the lab for almost 20 years. For most of her life, she lived in Mitchell Nebraska.

Her favorite hobbies were camping with family/friends, gardening, landscaping, and cooking amazing food for guests. Virginia especially enjoyed decorating her house and visitors always commented on how beautiful it was. In addition, she would comment about how much she loved growing up on the Reinhard farm in Callaway with her brothers and sister. She loved the river, farm and the antics everyone managed to get into. Virginia was especially devoted to her husband, daughter and granddaughters.

Survivors include her daughter Marjorie (Brian) of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Two granddaughters, Alexis Connors of Madison, Wisconsin and Breanna Connors of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Brother, Karl (MaryJane) Reinhard, sister Barbara Psota, sisters-in-law Nadine Reinhard and Barb Reinhard, brother-in-law Erwin Hoffman, five nieces, and eight nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers Don Reinhard, Gary Reinhard, Loyal Reinhard, Keith Reinhard; sisters-in-law Shirley Reinhard, Judith Hoffman, Betty Reinhard; and nephews Kyle Reinhard and Randy Reinhard.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held later at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway in the Spring of 2025.
