Harold Bayne's Obituary
Harold Charles Bayne passed away at the age of 97 at the Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home in Broken Bow, Nebraska on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 9:00 pm.
Harold was born to Lero - Israel and Pearl (Stearns) Bayne on August 11, 1920, in or around the North Platte area. He went thru the 8 grade and delivered milk for the Bayne dairy. He married Doris H. Cohn on Feb. 28, 1947, in Oberlin, Kansas. They moved to Hazard, NE then to several other towns including Kearney where he was hired as a carpenter and worked with his brothers for a time. He also helped build the North Platte swimming pool in Cody Park.
Preceding him in death, besides his parents Le Roy and Pearl Bayne, were his wife, Doris, in 2013, two sons; Calvin; in 1999 and Terry, in 2017, and daughter, Connie, who died in infancy, plus all of his siblings: Gerald, Kenneth, Glen, and Russell; two sisters: Zola Trembly, and Pearl Ludlow. Three brothers-in-law: Robert Trembly, Truman Ludlow, and, Wilber "Shorty", William, Cohn.
Harold is survived by his sons Roger, Harold Dave (Dercilla), of Broken Bow, Kevin (Lori) of Omaha, daughter Vicki (Allen) Dorcey of Broken Bow, Two Daughters-in-law Thoy and Noi both of Tucson, AZ, two sister-in-laws Dorothy Bayne of Broken Bow, and Mary Jane Cohn of North Platte, 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren plus numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Chose cremation and services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Kearney Cemetery. After services, family and friends of the deceased are invited to a reception for something to eat and further fellowship with friends and family at the Alley Rose at 1:00 pm.
