Harvey Duane Wiese

Harvey Duane Wiese Jr. age 81, of Ansley, NE passed away November 10, 2018, at his home in Ansley.

Duane was born February 14, 1937, to Harvey and Opal (Arp) Wiese, he attended Mason City School where he graduated in 1954. Duane joined the National Guards in June of 1955 through 1963.

Duane married Marlene McMahan on August 24, 1958, and they had Susan who passed away at birth, John, Jane, Julie, and Janelle.

Duane farmed and raised cattle until he retired in 2009 and moved to Ansley. Some of Duane’s hobbies were spending time with the love of his life Marlene, collecting International tractors and he loved seeing and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors are his wife Marlene of Ansley, John (JoEllen) of Callaway, Jane (Kerwin) Bramer of Amherst, Julie (Bob) Carlson of Kearney, Janelle (James) Taylor of McCook, brother Dean Wiese of Mason City, sister Diane (Randy) Wright of Tonganoxie, KS, aunt Vivian Axman of Kearney, grandkids Amy Wiese, Josh (Melissa) Wiese, Melissa (Patrick) Jorgenson, Jared (Autumn) Bramer, Kent (Laura) Bramer, Brian (friend Shelb) Bramer, Dustin Bramer, Kasey (Hannah) Taylor, Kaleb (friend Brantleigh) Taylor, Katie Taylor and many great-grandkids he loved dearly.

Duane is preceded in death by infant daughter Susan and his parents. 

Funeral services for Duane will be Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Ansley, NE with Pastor Victor Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.govierbrothers.com
