Jack Donald Corbin was born December 22, 1931, in Washington, Kansas to Elmer & Helen (Bonte) Corbin.  The family moved to Berwyn, NE where Jack started school at a small country school.   The family then moved to a ranch in Dunning, NE for a short while until they bought a ranch Northwest of Thedford, NE.  When Jack started high school, the family moved East of Thedford.  Jack decided in 10th grade that he was done with school and went to work breaking colts and helping ranchers.

From 1952-1954, Jack enlisted in the Army and served our Country during the Korean War.  He had many stories of his time in uniform and had been to Hawaii and Iceland.  He loved to tell how he brought Carolyn’s engagement ring home with him from Iceland.  After returning home, Jack ran a ranch Southwest of Thedford for a guy from Iowa.

June 4, 1955, Jack married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Goehring.  They lived on the ranch for 5 years before buying a farm/ranch West of Merna, NE in Dale Valley where Jack also went to work for the Anselmo Elevator driving the feed truck for Keith Kastens for over 30 years.  He covered many miles a day delivering feed, making friends and memories along the way.

In 1963, Jack and Carolyn were blessed by adopting a 3-month-old baby girl they named Bonnie Bernice.  In 1965, they were blessed a second time by adopting a 2-month-old baby boy they named Duane Douglas and both of their children filled them with pride and joy.

Jack joined the Broken Bow Elks Lodge #1688 in 1960, where he was voted as a trustee for 5 years and was also Chairman for a year and was Elk of the year in 1989, making lifelong friends and memories.  He also really enjoyed bowling on the Elks League for several years.

Jack joined United Methodist Church of Merna in 1965.

In 2007, Jack and Carolyn made the decision to move to Sumner, Ne to be closer to his doctors.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn, Daughter Bonnie (Ray) Hanam, Son Duane (Amber) Corbin, and 3 Grandsons, Chad Williams, Colt Corbin and Randall Adams Corbin, Brother Glen (Candy) Corbin, Brother-In-Law Robert (Bob) Anderson, several Nieces and Nephews and Godchildren Jim Spurlock, Kurt Spurlock, Peg Coon, Karen Fletcher & Diane Beebe.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Elmer & Helen, His In-Laws William (Bill) & Ida Goehring, Granddaughter Melissa Ann, Sister Doris, Sister-In-Law Esteleen, Brother-In-Law Richard and Sister-In-Law Mae.
