On April 23, 2021 Norman Eugene “Jake” Ferguson passed away at the age of 82 of Broken Bow. Jake was born February 1, 1939 in Ansley, NE to Elmer and Goldie (Rhoads) Ferguson. Jake grew up in the Ansley area, graduating from Ansley High in 1958.
March 13, 1963 Jake and Helen Evans were united in marriage, to this union two children were born Teresa Jean and Ronald Jacob. March of 1964 Jake started working for Custer Public Power District, he worked there until he retired in 2000. Jake also worked mowing substations over 25 years and built little sheds to put in the substations, so every time you go by a substation you can say “Jake built that one”.
Jake is survived by his wife Helen of Broken Bow, daughter Teresa Ferguson of Lebanon, sons Ron Ferguson of Watertown, MN, and Lonnie of Arizona, two grandchildren Ashley and Adam Jones, five great grandchildren Hope, Grace, Precious, Jasmine and Lawrence, three step grandchildren, three brothers Lyle, Don, and Lawrence, two sisters Evelyn Reich and Betty Waltman, and ex son-in-law Casey (Jan) Doggett.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Bennie and Ralph, and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
